love ko 'to!
i really really love this day! not only because i don't have classes, but also because it's basketball day! as i have said in one of my former posts, Air 21 (the team i love most) will take on the Alaska Aces (an undoubtedly strong team) in their next outing which is today.
during the first half of the game, i was really getting worried because my team started out at 0 to 16 run. not until Ronald Tubid entered the game did they score. noong unang meeting ng two teams, umabot sa double-overtime ang laro. the 1st one was a very close fight so disappointed talaga ako at how my team is playing.
i'll just copy the article from the website to give a better view of what transpired.
AIR21 POSTS COME-FROM-BEHIND WIN OVER ALASKA
David fires career-high 28 to lead Express to thriller of a winWednesday, 16 November 2005
Okay, so it wasn't a blowout game. But it likely still drove Alaska coach Tim Cone crazy.
A game that seemed all but wrapped up for Alaska, took a startling twist in the final nine minutes and ended with the Air21 Express dealing the Aces another horrifying loss -- an 88-83 come-from-behind victory Wednesday night in the San Mig Coffee-PBA Fiesta Conference at the Araneta Coliseum.
Reserve Gary David, turned in a career-high 28 points and played a key role in the fourth quarter as the Express completed a resurrection from 23 points down in the third period with a crippling 32-9 run in the last nine minutes of play.
After Tee McClary scored on a lay up for a 79-74 Alaska lead, Ranidel de Ocampo knocked in an eight-footer and Shawn Daniels scored in the lane to make it a one-point game.
On Alaska’s next possession, Daniels knocked the ball off Tony dela Cruz. While David didn't score on the transition, he drew a foul from McClary in the act of shooting. He sank both free throws as Air 21 took the lead for the first time with 2:05 left which the Express safely protected the rest of the way.
"It wasn't just our skills that enabled us to win. It's with God's blessing that we we're able to pull this one," said Air 21 coach Bo Perasol, who finally led his team to back-to-back wins for the first time in his young coaching career in the pros.
The victory was also the fifth in 10 games for the Express, who tied the Red Bull Barakos and the skidding Aces from fourth to sixth spots.
It was the third straight loss for Alaska – its longest losing streak in the conference. The Aces were coming off 22 and 23 point defeats at the hands of Talk ‘N Text and Coca-Cola in its previous two assignments and were looking to finally put an end to the slump with that 69-46 lead in the third canto which had Perasol virtually giving up.
"By the time Alaska had big lead in the third quarter I already gave up. I just told the boys that if we're gonna lose, let's go down respectably," Perasol confessed. "I'm just the boys responded well."
Wynne Arboleda scored 13 points including a huge three in the closing seconds which ended any hopes by the Aces to turn the game around. Daniels poured eight of his 12 points in the fourth while Ranidel de Ocampo added 11, nine in the last seven minutes in the their team’s all-time best comeback game in the league.
Alaska took that 23-point lead late in the third quarter but messed up in the fourth as the Express begun employing a full-court press.
Air21's efficient defense held the Aces to just 15 attempts in the fourth while forcing their opponents to commit 11 crucial turnovers that netted the Express 17 points. Alaska committed a total of 24 errors, 11 of the them in the fourth period where they were outscored by the Express, 36-14.
McClary showed the way for Alaska with 15 points including six in the first quarter as the Aces surged to a 16-0 lead five minutes into the period. Reynel Hugnatan and Tony Dela Cruz added 13 apiece and Brandon Cablay had 11 for the Aces, who got beat off the boards in the second half, 16-6.
The 16-0 start by Alaska tied the all-time best opening salvo by any team in the league which Ginebra San Miguel Beer registered against Purefoods in 1991 and equaled by Red Bull Barako in a game against Coca-Cola last year. However, both the Kings and the Barakos went on to win their games. (DBC)
there you have it. the full story of how my team won a very crucial game. and even if Ren-ren Ritualo didn't score that much (i mean not like in any other games where he scores double digits) i think he did a good job during the game. so kudos to Air21: to Coach Perasol and to the rest of team! well done and good luck to your next games!
even if i still would want to add more things to my entry, i can't do it because i really feel sleepy already. i'll just talk about what happened to me after the game - and i must tell you that it wasn't good.

"Real love is when you love someone without asking for anything in return. It's when even a passing smile can make your day, a small pat on the back can make you feel alive and the mere sound of his/her voice can move you to break out into a song inside.
Real love isn't fate nor is it written in the stars. You , yourself, have to make love happen. It's a choice; a commitment that you stand up for. And even if you're uncertain if he'she loves you back, you take the risk of facing whatever pain that would come your way simply because you believe he/she is worth everything and more."
