air21 does it again (3-game winning streak na 'to!)
my favorite team Air21 Express battled with the Sta. Lucia Realtors yesterday. and although my husband,Wesley, isn't around to play because he's sick, i still enjoyed the game since Air21 really had a good game - they were full of energy and confidence which probably became a big factor in their winning the game. i really love Air21!
here's the full story (from pba.ph):
EXPRESS EXTEND RUN, HALT REALTORS’ IN THE PROCESS
Daniels records triple-double
Sunday, 20 November 2005Air21’s offensive weapon was simply too much for the weary Sta. Lucia Realty squad.
The Express, the league’s top offensive team, outgunned the Realtors in the fourth quarter to run away with a 114-103 victory and extend their winning streak to three Sunday night in the PBA San Mig Coffee Fiesta Conference at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Shawn Daniels recorded his first triple-double in the tournament with 24 points, 20 rebounds and 13 assists to lead Air21’s win that snapped Sta. Lucia’s three-game winning streak.
The Express improved to 6-5.
Ranidel de Ocampo also shared the limelight with Daniels, netting a career-high 23 points, including eight straight points in one stretch of the fourth quarter to mold the rout for the Express.
Renren Ritualo added 15 markers while Ronald Tubid, Gary David and Bruce Dacia chipped in 12, 11 and 10, respectively in a balanced display of attack by the Express.
“Our game plan really is to have a strong individual defense because based on the statistics, no Sta. Lucia local player is in top 10 in scoring and that’s very dangerous. Anyone can score from them any time,” said Air21 mentor Bo Perasol.
“We also worked on our full-court press because we wanted to limit the touches of Marlou (Aquino) and Dennis (Espino),” Perasol added.
The win also spoiled Ricky Calimag’s perfect shooting as he drilled in all of his 10 attempts from the field before fouling out with 3:47 left in the game for Sta. Lucia, which dropped to 5-7.
Kenneth Duremdes added 14 points while Alex Cabagnot and Dennis Espino each contributed 13 for the Realtors, who drew an anemic 11-point performance from Omar Weaver.
Weaver was visibly outplayed by Daniels inside the paint and committed seven of the team’s 26 turnovers.
But despite the Sta. Lucia import’s dismal game, the Realtors managed to hang on behind the tandem of Cabagnot and Calimag as they trailed by just three, 88-91, 7:20 left in the game.
From there, Air21 stepped on the gas and uncorked a blistering 10-4 run for a 101-92 cushion, 3:02 left in the game.
Weaver broke Sta. Lucia’s offensive silence with an emphatic slam, 94-101, but De Ocampo responded with four straight points and Tubid followed it up with a lay-up to seal the outcome.
The Express also slowed down the 6-9 Marlou Aquino as he scored only nine points on 2-of-6 stint from the floor. He was 5-of-10 from the free throw line.
ayan nga ang nangyari. the team displayed a great dose of confidence which made them win. umeksena rin si Ronald Tubid with his dancing skills (made me remember Ryan "Mr. Jiggy" Arana...hehehe!)
i love PBA games talaga especially if Air21 is winning...hehehe!
* nga pala, Air21 is now tied at 3rd place with Talk 'n' Text. kita nyo na, even young teams can level with champion teams...hehehe! (yabang e!)

"Real love is when you love someone without asking for anything in return. It's when even a passing smile can make your day, a small pat on the back can make you feel alive and the mere sound of his/her voice can move you to break out into a song inside.
Real love isn't fate nor is it written in the stars. You , yourself, have to make love happen. It's a choice; a commitment that you stand up for. And even if you're uncertain if he'she loves you back, you take the risk of facing whatever pain that would come your way simply because you believe he/she is worth everything and more."
